Ateliers FIM: French manufacturers at the service of luxury The
The FIM (France Inter Mode) workshops are a family group of clothing workshops specialising in clothing and accessories for luxury ready-to-wear. Created 30 years ago, they now have 4 design offices, 4 collection teams, 4 cutting teams and 8 manufacturing workshops, representing more than 350 passionate craftsmen.
Each workshop is specialized in a specific sector of activity. We cover the following sectors (home & women): sleeve parts/sportswear, shirts/blouses, swimwear, luggage, belts, furs.
All our workshops are certified “Origine France Garantie”.
At the cutting edge of technology
The equipment of the FIM workshops has been strengthened as it is every year. In 2018, our machine park was completed with the acquisition at ELC of quilting robots that allow us to quilt the bids. At Façon Luxe, a Nucléus ultrasound machine has just been installed. It performs ultrasonic welding. It cuts and assembles acrylic, nylon, polyester… CoTecDeco has acquired a new 1.50 m quilting robot.
Increased cutting capacity
In 2016, the Lux Cutting workshop in Brûlon was equipped with a LECTRA automatic cutting machine with visual management. The first assessment was positive with a 5 to 20% reduction in material consumption and a better respect of deadlines. In 2018, Découpe Lux acquired a third automatic cut also with visual management. The camera detects the zero point and performs automatic pattern recognition to save time and minimize errors. Our leather cutting capacities have also been increased with the acquisition of two new Comelz cuts.
Development of the leather goods sector
Historically located in Fougères, the Leather Goods sector of the FIM workshops is developing. Two major developments: the first is the move of Ernée ELC’s site, now specialized in leather goods, to Fougères. The second is the creation of a leather goods site in Brûlon. Paul MARTIN-LALANDE acquired new premises (2000 m2) and the first employees joined the workshop in November 2018. FIM has always been particularly involved in the training of young people as well as in stimulating initiatives such as the Trade Olympics.
