Decodings Fabrics AW 25-26: Silkies The - Automne-Hiver 25-26 - Fabrics - Silkies and jacquards
Heavy drapings, noble curves, fleeting gleams – silkies are all about movement this season. By turn tame and supple, or thick and rebellious, livelier than ever, they skillfully juggle blends that surprise and thwart expectations.
Couture Density
Double satins, failles, mikados, and heavy, thick silkies sometimes flow nonchalantly, trailing wavy reflections in their wake. At other times, they defy gravity, allowing themselves to be sculpted while maintaining their shape, with all the suppleness and firmness of moldable materials.
Draping Fluidity
All supple and light, jerseys, fine twills and caressing satins fall into languid, soft drapes. Silk, viscose, cashmere and Tencel merge their assets to envelop us in softness and delicacy, in a skin-on-skin dialogue.
