The AW 24-25 season offers multiple fantasy denim options. Creativity is everywhere, from intense color contrasts, subtle shines or baroque inspiration.

Intense contrasts

This season, denim washes bring on the high drama. Boldly assumed, almost celebrated, they fill the entire surface. Pale, neat shades are drawn on dark grounds ranging from indigo to black. Effects are sometimes concentrated on whiskers, and sometimes placed. Others give a nod to nature, with crackled effects and watery-looking reflections. Visuals can be even further enhanced by 3D effects, thanks to resins.

Gratingly-hued overdyes

Here, contrasting washes are tinged in explosive dyes and colorings. Bright, neutral and dark nuances are combined with no apparent logic. Blotches are worked like embellishments, filling up the entire surface of a fabric. They almost efface dark indigo or black denim bases, resulting in dissonant contrasts.

Organic green

Woodland mosses run across the season’s denims. Green is in the spotlight, in all its many nuances, from deep fir to yellowed lichen. An organic inspiration felt in irregular washes, crackled effects and acid dyes, as well as in greenish overdyes and yarn-dyeds.

Subtle shines

Looks with a Y2K inspiration have become a jeanswear classic – marking the return of a flashy, party aesthetic where denim is precious, fancy, and approached like eveningwear. For Winter 24-25, this influence is conveyed in subtle shines glittering against dark and grayish backgrounds. Silvery reflections are introduced via lurex yarns, prints, coatings, and the use of embroidery.

Baroque inspiration

In another decorative and vintage vision of denim, baroque makes a comeback. Here, materials are inspired by tapestry and ornamentation. Motifs are figurative and old fashioned, with narrative scenes and big lacey flowers… An aesthetic expressed in a variety of techniques, from jacquards to laser prints to flocked motifs.

Velvety softness

In this precious and ornamental vein, we see new hybrids of denim and velvet, imparting a surprising softness and sensuality to this typically sturdy and rigid fabric. The search for warmth is also expressed in more comfortable qualities, with brushed materials featured in both interiors and exteriors, for softened handles. The feeling of warmth also derives from fabric compositions, with a focus on luxurious natural fibers, such as silk, wool and cashmere.

Shielding weaves

For protective denims that form a barrier between the body and the world. Plays on constructions and patterns go from quiltings to weaves with XXL volumes. Cut-outs are increasingly influenced by a motorcycle vibe, for urban and sporty looks to be worn as ensembles, for a biker look.
