Presented by Celine Khawam, a fashion historian and textile design professional based in New York.
She holds a Master of Fine Arts from Pantheon-Sorbonne University and a Master in Fashion Studies and Textile Conservation from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Celine began her career as a textile designer creating home linens for American designers and luxury fashion houses, including Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Hermes, Kenzo, and Givenchy. Her international experience and world travels led to inspiring encounters with makers, shaping her passion for craftsmanship and textile cultural heritage. As a researcher, her main interest embraces preserving historical garments and reviving the work of designers overlooked in fashion scholarship. Her current projects-in-progress include the conservation treatment of an 1840 American day dress and writing a paper on the French milliners (hat makers) of New York from 1930 to 1968.
