Since 1969, the Société Choletaise de Fabrication, based in Maine et Loire, has been manufacturing cords, laces, straps, braids, braids, halyards,… Labelled a living heritage company, it masters all the traditional weaving and knitting skills. Fashion items, as technical products, are intended for sectors as varied as footwear, clothing, leather goods, household linen, jewellery and much more.
Historical know-how
It was in 1969 that the Choletaise Manufacturing Company was created with the creation of a braiding workshop and the manufacture of laces. Over the years, she has developed her know-how as a weaver and knitter, created the SCF and manufactured textile accessories such as braids, ribbons, lace, cords, borders,…
In 2010, the company was taken over by Olivier Verrièle who, after 16 years in banking, took the plunge and entered the industry. A few years later, he bought a weaving company and Dessalces lace, thus covering all the traditional weaving, weaving and knitting machines.
Since 2013, the 50 employees have been weaving on more than 1,000 automatic wooden looms dating back to 1830 and which had been idle for 40 years. It was necessary to rediscover their instructions for use and their full potential.
