Cellulosic fibers are gaining ground thanks to their ecological qualities and natural origin, and look to be increasingly derived from post-consumer recycling. Their low-impact production and soft comfort are successfully conquering all markets. The use of cellulosic fibers in sport products is somewhat more recent, and here as elsewhere they are favored for their improved biodegradability and as an alternative to polyesters. The use of lyocells and artificial fibers also aims to prevent the formation of micro-plastic, especially in fleeces.
